Mayhem: Havenscar Edition
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything a new player or curious host usually asks — and where to go next.
What is Havenscar?
Havenscar is a dark-fantasy strategy game of provinces, power, and betrayal — played entirely through its digital companion, part of the Mayhem series from Wild Hearts Publishing. Two factions — the High Council and the Wildsworn — fight for control of a crumbling realm of sixty-two provinces, with 469 cards across eleven decks and a Bag of Mayhem that upends every round.
Is Havenscar a physical board game or a digital game?
Havenscar is a digital game for an in-person game night. The host runs the board on a shared screen — a TV or laptop — and every other player joins from their own phone. There are no physical components: the cards, provinces, resources, and chaos draws all live in the app, while the negotiation, bribery, and betrayal happen out loud at the table.
What do I need to play?
One purchased copy for the host, a TV or laptop for the shared board, a phone for each player, and an internet connection. Players joining a session pay nothing and install nothing — the game runs in the browser.
How many players can play?
Up to six players per session. The host creates the session and shares a six-character join code; everyone else joins free from their phones.
Do players need to create accounts?
No. There are no accounts. The host unlocks the game with the access code from their purchase email, and players join a session by entering the join code and choosing a name.
Is Havenscar a subscription?
No. It is a one-time purchase — A$34.95 for the base game — with unlimited sessions and no hidden costs. The Long Dark expansion is A$14.95, or A$44.95 for the complete bundle.
Can Havenscar be played offline?
No. Sessions are synced live between the host screen and every player’s phone, so an internet connection is required while you play.
What is The Long Dark expansion?
The Long Dark adds a winter campaign scenario, a dark card set, seasonal province effects, and The Unravelling end-game mechanics. It requires the base game.
How long does a game take?
A game ends when one faction controls four of the six Ring of Power provinces, or when all twenty Chaos Tokens have been drawn from the Bag of Mayhem. Havenscar is designed to be played in a single sitting.
I lost my access code — how do I get it back?
Your access code can be re-sent to the email address you used at purchase. Head to the access page and follow the recovery link, or contact info@wildheartspublishing.com.au.
